Radical Rescue is a nonprofit organization started by Dr. Michael Duehrssen, a physician with a vision to lead teams of volunteers who are passionate about providing medical support and disaster response to others during times of crisis. Prior to founding Radical Rescue, Dr. Duehrssen developed the first-of-its-kind Bachelor of Science degree, International Rescue and Relief at his alma mater, Union College in Lincoln, Nebraska. It is a didactic and hands-on program designed to infuse graduates with a passion for life-long humanitarian service. Over the past 10 years, Radical Rescue has deployed humanitarian and disaster response teams to Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Hurricane Harvey, Myanmar, India, Malawi, Lebanon and most recently, Ukraine.
